Hello,
My name is Kay. I wanted to share the story of how it all began!
As a student in elementary school, I was never fond of math. I constantly dreaded going to class not realizing what was causing the dislike towards mathematics, let alone knowing how to overcome it. This continued to happen until I met my 6th grade math teacher, Mr. Appa. He showed us a fun way to learn math. This completely changed my perspective about mathematics. It made a huge impact on my career path.
I developed a lifelong love for mathematics and successfully graduated from California State University with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a GPA 3.9. This was possible because of the passion for math that was cultivated early on. I have been an educator for students in elementary school all the way up to college.
I am very passionate about teaching math. It gives me immense pleasure to see the spark when a student understands a concept and is energized to learn the next level! Understanding a concept and feeling confident about the achievement gets my students ready to move mountains!
Much like there are many ways to solve a math problem, there are many ways to teach a student. I have made it my goal to identify the way students learn and make education more enjoyable.
